Castle of Lagopesole

At the top of Lagopesole there is an important castle, whose origin come from Frederick II, Holy Roman Empire and probably built between 1242 and 1250

A peculiarity that distinguishes this castle from all other attributed to Frederick II of Swabia is the presence of a church within it, the only example, among the ones that date back to imperial in an austere Romanesque style, and that the restoration made in recent years of the twentieth century have brought to light and handed over to posterity in its original splendor.
